I. What is LOT (Leader Orientation Training)? LOT is an orientation course required by Texas PTA for all newly elected officers. According to your bylaws, each officer must complete the course by October 15th after taking office, or be ineligible to serve.
The course is reqauired to be taken only one time, no matte the number of offices that may be held in a PTA career.
This is a very important basic leadership course. Due to the responsibilitires that a member assumes while serving on any PTA executive board, it is hightly recommended by Area 15 PTA that ALL board members (officers & stanidng committee chairmen) take the course.
Important Reminders: 1. You may attend any Leader Orientation Training course that is being offered in the state of Texas to meet your attendance requirement.
2. It is your responsibility to arrive on time. No attendee will be admitted after the training has begun, no matter the reason. You will be allowed to attend another session being offered.
3. You must attend the entire session in order to receive credit for attending the course and a completion card.
4. Please check with the LOT Council Coordiantor if you decide to attend a session other than the one being offered by your Council. 5. Make your checks payable to Texas PTA. The registration fee of $6.00 may be paid by your local PTA or Council unit. Either a PTA check or personal check will be accepted.
6. Come prepared to learn about the inner workings of PTA, bring your positive attitude, and plan to have fun!
